Camping from the back seat

Below is an article by Tom McGay for our inaugural By Kids for Kids feature.

Want a new place to go this summer? Somewhere you can bring your kids, too? Take a trip to Bright, Victoria. Bright is filled with beautiful parks that are perfect for the kids, and contains some of the best mountain bike trails in Australia – there are trails for every skill level, from beginner to pro.

Don’t have a bike? You can hire one at one of bike shops down Gavan Street. Struggling to find a place to stay? Bright’s got you sorted. From Airbnbs and campervans, to tents – Bright’s got it all.

I go here every April, and I never get sick of it. I mean, how can you when there are bike comps on and thousands of trails to ride? Sometimes when I go camping, my younger sisters get bored because they can’t do much at the camp spot we’re staying at. This isn’t the case at Bright, though. My younger sisters can ride beginner trails, go to the cafes down the road, or visit the stag farm and pat deer.

Bright has endless possibilities – it’s even got a cinema! But is there one thing you’re worried about that is stopping you from camping? Is it taking your dog? If so, I’ve got a solution for you. Head down to one of the many dog-sitters in Bright, and let your furry friend have some fun. So, as I said before, looking to camp somewhere new this summer? Head to Bright! Trust me, Bright won’t disappoint.
