When it comes to Victorian attractions, I’m sure you’ve heard of the MCG or the Melbourne Star, but have you heard of these three kid-friendly hidden gems in Victoria below?
Aireys Inlet
Found along the Great Ocean Road just past Anglesea is Aireys Inlet. Aireys Pub is a must see if you have kids and want to get a bite to eat. What separates Aireys Pub from your typical pub is the huge play area with life-size chess boards, trees to climb and heaps of space to play any sports. A place I can’t get enough of in Aireys Inlet is the lighthouse. The lighthouse itself is breathtaking, but the views looking onto the beach are just as astonishing. With cosy vibes all throughout the town and many things to do, Aireys Inlet is a must visit.
Bendigo
You may have heard about Bendigo, but did you know about the Chinese museums and gardens on offer? The Yi Yuan Gardens are worth a visit both at night and during the day with it it’s beautiful design. The garden brings a very peaceful vibe that has found to be therapeutic for many who visit. The Golden Dragon Museum is more for kids with its dragon performances that showcase Chinese culture using colourful and eye-catching dragons. Next time you go to Bendigo, think about visiting the Chinese attractions they have on offer.
Jan Juc, Bird Rock
Found next to Torquay is Jan Juc. Jan Juc is a small town, but its beaches are incredible to say the least. What makes Bird Rock such a special beach is its namesake large rock on display. Jan Juc has never failed me when it comes to summer day out, with so much to do. Explore around the rock formations and reefs when the tide is low, surf waves that vary from 2-6 feet depending on the day, head to lookouts that offer extraordinary views, and restaurants including the Jan Juc Pub across the road. Jan Juc is definitely more than worth a visit this summer.
Don’t miss out on taking you and your kids to these three hidden gems!
