Arts
Whether it’s a show-stopping musical number, a comedy show or a unique art display, you’ll be in awe of the impeccable talent this city has on offer. Theatre takes centrestage with incredible live renditions of some of the world’s most popular songs at The World of Musicals. Enjoy performances from crowd favourites Mamma Mia, Cats, The Boy from Oz, The Greatest Showman, Wicked, Hairspray, The Blues Brothers… and so many more! On 26 March, head to the Adelaide Festival Centre and belt out a tune in this enthralling and heartfelt concert.
Food
Foodies will rejoice in Adelaide this autumn at the Tasting Australia festival. From 29 April to 8 May, set your tastebuds alight with a once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience. Regardless of whether you’re hungry for a classic pub feed and a cold local beer, or a gourmet five-course meal from world-renowned chefs, the Tasting Australia festival is for you!
Music
For those wanting to explore the music scene outside of Adelaide, travel 90 minutes east of the CBD to the Mannum Golf Club on 9 April to check out Sounds by the River. Not only will you see Aussie rock royalty legends like Boom Crash Opera, Killing Heidi, The Angels, The Living End, and Hunters & Collectors perform, but you’ll also get to enjoy some time by the tranquil Murray River.
History
Car enthusiasts can head to ‘Holden Heroes’, an exhibition dedicated to one of the country’s largest collections of beloved Holden cars. Operating every day throughout 2022, the exhibition is being held at the National Motor Museum in Birdwood, an hour east of Adelaide. With 18 vehicles from 1948–2017 on show, ‘Holden Heroes’ is set to dazzle any car fan.
Fun
Family-friendly fun is on the cards at the Oakbank Easter Racing Carnival, a three-day carnival starting on 16 April in the heart of the Adelaide Hills. Head 40 minutes east of the CBD to the green-lined mountains that hug metropolitan Adelaide to find a one-of-a-kind racing experience where you can dress how you like, and picnic on the soft grass.
