Fall in love with Amazing Forbes this autumn!

In partnership with Forbes Shire.

Nestled in the heart of the idyllic Lachlan Valley, Amazing Forbes is the perfect place to spend a night, a long weekend, or even stay a while longer. There is an abundance of activities for every kind of explorer and traveller, and there are exciting new things popping up constantly!

An RV-friendly town, Forbes offers four caravan parks, a large vehicle parking area behind the CBD and a free overnight (48 hour) rest stop for self-sufficient travellers.

Situated on Wiradjuri country in New South Wales, Forbes boasts an incredible array of culture, art, nature, history and heritage.

With its extensive offering of places to explore, eat, stay and shop… you’ll wish you had planned to visit a little longer!

Forbes is known for its charming heritage buildings and rich history. Discover the magnificent architecture across the town that speaks of their gold rush past, or learn about Wiradjuri culture at the Wiradjuri Dreaming Centre. Here, you can view the ‘story poles’ detailing important aspects of culture along the Lake Forbes walking and cycle path.

If unwinding in nature is your thing, Lake Forbes is the perfect place for a relaxing afternoon picnic. Alternatively, take a stroll along the almost 10 kilometres of pathway that surrounds the Lake from the Wiradjuri Dreaming Centre to the Forbes Ski Dam.

For bird enthusiasts, a visit to the nature reserve at Gum Swamp Bird Hide is a must. Check out the newly erected viewing platforms and spot the different species of birds that the area attracts.

Gum Swamp is also the location of the first sculpture of the incredible Sculpture Down the Lachlan (SDL) art trail. The trail then continues along the Lachlan River from Forbes to Condobolin.

Not to be underestimated is the unique boutique shopping experience in Forbes, where you’re bound to find something amazing (for yourself, or someone else!).

So, when will you… Find Yourself in Amazing Forbes?
