In partnership with Tamworth Regional Council.
Forget Tamworth in January, we’re now heading to the Country Music Capital in April! The rescheduled 50th anniversary of the Tamworth Country Music Festival is now an autumn edition.
The April instalment of the Tamworth Country Music Festival is set to be just as big and bring just as many big-name stars. With the likes of Kasey Chambers, Troy Cassar-Daley, Lee Kernaghan and John Williamson all confirmed for the new timeslot, the 2022 festival promises to live up to its name as the largest music festival in Australia.
Running from 18 to 24 April, the festival will see hundreds of artists performing across a number of venues in the city. A favourite with caravanners and campers alike, the festival has something for every age group and lifestyle, as well as catering to all nomadic visitors.
The festival has always remained true to its country roots, offering a mix of traditional, Americana, blues, roots, alt-country, bluegrass, honky-tonk and many more genres, with visitors attending free outdoor concerts headlined by country music’s biggest names. FanZone will also return in April, giving festival-goers a chance to get up close to their favourite stars.
In addition to all the fantastic country music entertainment, there is so much more on offer at this festival experience. Tamworth’s main thoroughfare, Peel Street, is turned over to pedestrians to enjoy buskers, street art, street performers and market stalls, whereas a dedicated food zone allows festival-goers to sample all kinds of cuisines. Meanwhile, there is plenty of family fun to be had with carnival rides, show bags and games in the family zone – all making for an unforgettable festival experience.
