Top weekend getaways from Perth

Top weekend getaways from Perth

These three destinations are all less than a three-hour drive from Perth, so you can escape the city for a caravan-friendly weekend away.

Honeymoon Pool

What could be better than swimming in a tranquil river on a hot day? Venture two hours south of Perth and you’ll find yourself at Honeymoon Pool, a serene swimming hole that’s surrounded by beautiful dense forest. Honeymoon Pool is the perfect spot for bushwalking, fishing, swimming and kayaking. You can find powered sites at the Collie River Valley Tourist Park, which is a short drive from Honeymoon Pool, or pitch a tent in the Stones Brook campground.

Swan Valley

If you’re looking for a weekend getaway that’s not far from Perth, then Swan Valley is the destination for you. Swan Valley is Western Australia’s oldest wine region, so it’s dotted with world-class wineries, breweries and gin distilleries, as well as top-notch cafes serving tasty local produce. Take a winery tour and sample some of the state’s best wines, or hire a bicycle and cycle around the region. Plus, Swan Valley is only a 30-minute drive from Perth. Park your caravan at the Swan Valley Discovery Park (which even has its own swimming pool) and get ready to experience Swan Valley.

Jurien Bay

Want the ultimate beach escape? Look no further then Jurien Bay, a two-and-a-half-hour drive north of Perth. When you arrive at Jurien Bay, you’ll see nothing but white sand and sparkling azure water for as far as the eye can see. It’s the perfect spot for snorkelling, diving and swimming. Not the adventurous type? No problem. Lay down your beach towel and spend a relaxing day in the sun, but don’t forget to put on sunscreen. Plus, the Jurien Bay Tourist Park is just a short walk from the beach, so you can easily wander back to the caravan after enjoying a great day in the sun.
