Built from original plans of Hobart in the 1820s, Old Hobart Town is Australia’s only model village that is built to original plans and tells a story about, and accurately depicts, one of our capital cities in its infancy.

Set outdoors among native gardens and peaceful surroundings, it has now been offering an absolutely unique and fascinating insight into Hobart and Tasmania’s past for more than 25 years. Covering approximately two tennis courts, the model itself is landscaped with bonsai trees, and offers plenty of information about Hobart’s settlement, important people of the day and, of course, convict life.
